Something Nice

Ten stories. No prisoners.
"An acclaimed collection of ten short stories by Andrew K Lawston. A blend of science-fiction, fantasy, philosophy and the supernatural. From the cuddly neighbours with a nasty hobby in Throwing Up With the Joneses, to the lovelorn robot of Cyberstalking these stories all made the author's Mum ask the same question. "Why don't you write something nice?"

Well, now he has."

My first short story collection was published on Kindle and Smashwords in April 2012. Something Nice has sold incredibly well for a short story collection and has picked up some terribly kind reviews over the years.

I spent much of the first decade of the new century quietly racking up small competition wins and magazine / e-zine publications with my short stories. One day I realised that all the rights had reverted to me, and that I had a sizeable back catalogue of professionally-edited stories.

The rest is, as they say, history. I sometimes miss the original cover: a photo of a pint of beer next to my writing notebook in a pub garden. I thought its home made simplicity was sort of charmingly inept. But Lawston Design did a stunning job on revamping the title in 2014, and I've never really looked back.

Something Nice - Ten Stories is currently exclusive to Amazon Kindle, and can be found here.
